1 1/2 cups lukewarm milk
1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp. salt

In mixing bowl dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir in milk, sugar, salt, egg, shortening and half the flour. Mix with spoon until smooth.
Add enough remaining flour to handle easily; mix with hand or spoon.
Turn onto lightly floured board; knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes. Round up in greased bowl; turn once to bring greased side up.
Cover; let rise in warm place (85 degrees) until double, about 1 1/2 hours.
Take half of the dough and roll it out and put 1/4 cup butter spread it all over the dough.  Add brown sugar and cinnamon and raisins and spread that on top of butter.  Roll up the dough and cut about one inch  pieces.  For the other half take 1/4 cup of butter and spread it on the dough after you roll it out in a oblong  Add apricot and cinnamon on top of the butter  put as much of the topping as you want some like it with a lot of apricot some a little so I would say put what ever you like.   There's a lot of things you can use in you rolls lots of different jams. cook at 375  25 to 30 min.  You can put them in a lot of different kind of pans I use the freezer pans so I can freeze some for later.
